NO ONE SHOULD TRAVEL THIS JOURNEY ALONE >
The Road Ahead NI (Charity No. 110220) provides emotional and practical support to adults and children affected by road traffic collisions across Northern Ireland and the border counties. We offer free, trauma-informed support through our dedicated Adult and Children’s services to help people through the impact of road trauma.
Established in 2020 as a service of Road Safe NI, The Road Ahead NI was founded by people with personal experience of road trauma. Our volunteers understand the impact of loss, injury, and trauma because they have lived it themselves.
Now an independent charity, we continue to work alongside Road Safe NI to promote road safety and provide vital support to bereaved families, survivors, children, witnesses, and first responders when they need it most.

The Road Ahead NI (Charity No. 110220) supports individuals, families, and communities across Northern Ireland affected by road traffic collisions. Founded in 2020 as part of Road Safe NI, it was created in response to the impact of road crashes. All volunteers have personal experience with these incidents.
-
Starting in Newry, Mourne and Down, The Road Ahead NI now supports people across Northern Ireland. We get referrals from GPs, social workers, mental health teams, paediatric staff, charities, and individuals seeking urgent trauma support.
We fill a vital gap, especially for those facing long NHS waits or services that don’t address the specific trauma of road traffic incidents.

HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE THROUGH FUNDRAISING >
At The Road Ahead NI, we believe that no one should travel this journey alone and thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we are determined to keep that promise.
Our services are provided free of charge to those affected by road collisions, but we depend significantly on donations to continue this vital work.
Every contribution, big or small, helps us offer hope, healing, and support when it's needed most.
-
Just £50 can provide a vital counselling session for someone struggling with trauma after a road collision.
A donation of £500could offer a full package of tailored therapy for one individual — giving them the tools to cope, heal, and move forward.
By giving £2,000, you could fund trauma recovery for a whole family — offering them hope and support when they need it most.
£200 can bring 15 people together at a therapeutic workshop, building friendships and peer networks that last a lifetime.
